Chicago Trip

This past week I went on a trip with my fiancé to Chicago, Illinois. It was a really fun experience.
We walked around the city and came across the Chicago Theatre. It's so pretty with thebright lights.

We worked up an appetite and had the famous stuffed crust pizza at Giordano's. After dinner we walked off our pizza by visiting The Cloud Gate aka the Giant Bean  The bean is awesome!
I loved seeing the buildings in the reflection. The next morning we went to the Sky Deck and stepped onto the ledge on the 103rd floor.
We then walked to the bean again, to get a day shot :)
Overall Chicago was an excellent trip and a beautiful city. I had a great time shopping in the Magnificent Mile area and my honey enjoyed himself too! I highly recommend Chicago as a place for your next trip.

Trip To Colorado

My boyfriend and I went on a trip to Colorado this weekend :) here are some pictures of our trip

Up first was Union Station in Denver, Co
then we drove to the Bison preserve and were able to see buffalo

Next, we went to Seven Falls and climbed 224 steps to the top! Zoom in...

for lunch I had a green chile burger :) from Elway's
the next day we visited the Stanley Hotel. My honey is a Spielberg fan and would not pass up this opportunity. He also loves the movie The Shining this hotel is the reason why Spielberg was inspired to do this film

long corridor  and the

infamous room 217

the last site we visited was the State Capital

the dome is covered in 24k gold!

a picture of our feet :) standing 5,280 ft above sea level. The air is so fresh and crisp in Denver I would love to visit again.

December Favorites

Urban Decay De Slick: I find that this doesn't make my face completely matte but it does help. I use this on my T-zone before and after I do my makeup.

Narciso Rodriguez Perfume: This smells delicious! When I spray this I think of a cold, snowy night and dollops of fresh whip cream....ha! I'm  crazy over this scent!!

CHI Keratin-Leave-in Conditioner: I use this on wet hair and concentrate it on my ends. I love that it detangles my curly hair and keeps my ends hydrated. Careful not to spray too much because it gets heavy and kills the volume in your hair. Well, at least for me it did.

May Favorites

Here are my favorites for the month :)
The Balm-Balms Away makeup remover: I'm so glad I picked this up on my trip to Vegas! This makeup remover is a solid and looks like hair wax, it's really smooth and breaks down my mascara quickly.
Revlon lipstick in Berry Haute-I love this color it reminds me of Heroine by MAC
Nars Monoi Oil: The smell is so tropical and perfect for the warm days we been having in Los Angeles. And it's very moisturizing.
Stila Cream Color in Peony: An oldie but goody... I forget how natural and pretty this color is :)
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer: the compact is just so cute! I love using it on the inner corners of my eyes.
What are your monthly favorites or products you can't live with out?

February Favorites

Before it gets any later in the month, these are my favorite products.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- I bought this in 001 Translucent. This powder really does keep me shine free and gives me a smooth finish. I use it over my MAC MSF.
Vicktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Travel Duo-I hate lugging around the full size bottle of my perfume, this mini bottle is perfect to carry in my purse. Only $35.00 at Sephora
MAC Lipstick-In Kinda Sexy. Matte and beautiful! It looks like a dark Coral in the tube but applies a light warm Pink.
e.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set- If you like Urban Decay's All Nighter, you're gonna love this! You get the same results only for way cheap :) $3.00 at Walmart
Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover- Oil free. I found a dupe for my all time favorite makeup remover!!! I love Mary Kay's makeup remover but it runs out so quickly and at $15.00 it can get pretty pricey...I'm so glad I came across this at cvs it cost around $6.00 and does the EXACT same thing.
Kinda Sexy lipstick.
here's a really quick swatch of Kinda Sexy

Steam Pot Sunday

This Sunday I made my very first steam pot and surprised my hubby with a beach side picnic! <3 If you're interested keep reading for my recipe and method on how I did this :)

What you need:
2 pounds of shrimp
2 pounds of clams
2 pounds of mussels
  (or your choice of shellfish)
4-5 small potatoes (I used white)
2 ears of corn
1 lemon cut in half
1/2 an onion
3 cloves of garlic chopped
1 can of beer
old bay seasoning (I used the one that comes in a bag)
1 tsp of pepper
2 tbsp of salt
1tsp of garlic powder
1tsp of chili powder
add 2 quarts of water to a large pot as well as the beer and bring to a boil.
wash your potatoes and cut the corn in half

once boiling add your corn and potatoes
add chopped onion and garlic

then add your lemon and all dry ingredients and the old bay seasoning. Boil for 15 minutes.

                                                                     add the shellfish

sprinkle with chili powder and cover for 20 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink.

and serve :)
